Hellboy the Dragonslayer

Another really fun commission. This one I decided to try a horizontal approach and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I struggled a bit because Hellboy is always drawn (by Mignola) in an iconic, vertical (think totem pole) kind of way. Does that make any sense? Anyway, I'm happy with the piece and I hope you enjoy it...

...if you don't, keep it to yourself.

Duuuuuuuude!

This piece is gorgeous. I'm totally loving the grey-wash you're putting on your drawing these days.

Thanks for stopping by and boosting my ego, guys. I'm really having a lot of fun using washes--maybe too much fun. I'm getting to the point where I can't do a drawing without feeling compelled to use the ink wash. It makes it difficult when I go back to my pages from the Damned now and use the flat grey tones of Photoshop on them. It'd be nice to do a book at some point where it was all done in ink and washes. Ah, someday...
